How to let Claude, Codex or Cursor read your meetings
Updated November 3, 2026
Memento writes its own summaries on your Mac. But sometimes you want to ask the assistant you already use: “What did we promise the client last month?” or “Draft the follow-up email from Tuesday’s call.” Memento can share your meetings with it through MCP, the standard way AI apps read your data.
How it works
Memento runs a small server that only your own Mac can reach, protected by a key. When you ask something, your assistant calls it to search meetings, read a summary or transcript, or list tasks, people and projects. It can only read; it can’t change or delete anything.
Connect in one click
- In Memento, open Settings › General › AI assistants (MCP) (called “Claude” before version 1.3) and turn on Let AI assistants read your meetings.
- Next to your assistant:
- Claude Desktop: press Connect…, then restart Claude.
- Claude Code: press Copy command and paste it in Terminal.
- Codex, Cursor or LM Studio: press Connect… and choose the folder Memento suggests, then restart the app.
- Anything else: Copy address and key gives you what any MCP client needs.
- Ask away. For example: “Search my meetings for the budget and tell me what we decided.”
What leaves your Mac
Only what the assistant reads, and only when you ask. Memento itself sends nothing. If the assistant is a cloud service like Claude or Codex, its provider receives the parts of your meetings it reads, under its own privacy policy. If you want nothing to leave at all, use a local model: here’s how.
