Is my data private?

Yes. The audio, the transcript and the summary stay on your Mac and are never uploaded. Memento only sends anonymous usage counts (like "a summary was generated") to improve the app, and you can turn them off in Settings › General › Usage. Details in the privacy policy.

Why does it download about 700 MB the first time?

The speech, speaker and summary models run on your Mac. They download once; after that Memento works offline.

How does the free trial work?

Try every feature free for 7 days. After that, one purchase unlocks Memento forever. There's no subscription.

I paid but lost access, or I changed Macs.

Open Settings › Memento › Restore Purchases.

Memento can't hear the other people in the call.

Allow System Audio Recording for Memento in System Settings › Privacy & Security, then restart the recording.

How do I connect Claude, Codex, LM Studio or Cursor?

In Settings › General › AI assistants (MCP), turn on access and press Connect next to your assistant.

Do I need consent to record?

Recording-consent laws vary by region. Telling the other participants, and getting their consent where it's required, is your responsibility.
